Still alive and cruising, Southampton UK, 06 November 2008
How remiss we are about updating the website! Kakadu is in Greece. We are in the UK. Back to the boat in Lefkada next March, then we plan to go to Turkey.

Family pics, Holly hill lane, 29 July 2006
have a look at some new pics of the grandchildren INCLUDING CHRISTINA !

Palermo, Sicily, 06 May 2006
We left Vibo Valentia where we wintered Kakadu in early April. We sailed through the Isole Eolie to Palermo and we are currently visiting Pip's sister, Pauline who lives here. Wonderful.

Back in Holly Hill lane, Southampton UK, 02 January 2006
Happy New Year everyone. We are savouring the joys of living in our own house again after two and a half years at sea. Things like council tax, electricity and gas bills and grey, drab, overcast weather. But the compensation is the proximity of the grandchildren (and the children, of course!). Kakadu is in Vibo Valentia, southern Italy. We plan to go back there in April for a cruise to Sicily, Tunisia, Malta and eventually Greece by the end of 2006.

Rome and UK, , 16 July 2005
After nearly four months sailing for a total of 1300 miles we arrived in Rome. It has been a super year. Spring in the Med.with only a few tourist and lots of flowers was wonderful. The sailing has been interesting too with so many islands to visit and lots of sunshine. On route we stopped in Formentera, Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca, Sardinia, Corsica and Elba. Coastlines are often dramatic and arriving by sea was exciting. Near Rome at the end of June Kakadu was lifted out of the water and we returned to the UK. We plan to go back in September when the Med is cooler, less busy and cheaper!!

Blowing hard in the Balearics, Andraitx, Mallorca, 16 April 2005
Arrived in Andraitx from Ibiza yesterday in rain and 25Kn wind. Sunny and 35Kn today but we will stay in the marina and enjoy the very beautiful natural harbour.

Costa Blanca, Torrevieja, 15 March 2005
We have at last escaped Almerimar and headed north around Cabo de Gata. This is some of the most spectacular coastal scenery we have seen on our travels so far. The ports of San Jose, Garrucha and Mazarron are all very different and quaint in their own way. Cartagena is in a spectacular setting and is a superb natural harbour, and all steeped in history. We are now in Torrevieja, a very “north European” expat marina and will move on tomorrow (if the rain stops!)

Back in Spain, Almerimar, 14 February 2005
After two hectic months in England we returned to Almerimar on 2 February. Lost a daughter, gained a son in law and a grandson! Planning to move on in next few weeks weather permitting.

A short pause, ALMERIMAR, SPAIN, 27 September 2004
We have found a good parking place in the marina at Almerimar. Safe and convenient. We plan to stay here until mid January 2005 with excursions to the UK for important events. We have put a few experimental pics on the site which seem to be OK, so we will add some more in due course.

Caleta de Velez, , 12 September 2004
Anchored in a beautiful bay about 300 metres from marina. Then the fog came down and we saw absolutely nothing. It is a good "bonding exercise". Similar idiots in a German boat nearby stayed with us. Life is hard! Super day today. Fog cleared and went swimming off the boat. (Well, half of the crew did).

Marbella, , 09 September 2004
We are in Marbella. Contrary to our expectations it has a lovely old town with narrow streets and leafy squares. In the centre there is a street with loads of Dali bronzes. Excellent.
